Dear Neighbor,
I hope this message finds you well. As you may be aware, in recent weeks, we’ve seen aggressive and hostile actions taken by ICE across our city, causing fear and uncertainty among many of our immigrant communities. In response to these distressing events, I am proud to share an initiative that I helped create with the City Council’s Communications Team to safeguard and support our diverse communities.
Recognizing the diversity of our Council and the communities we serve, we’ve launched a series of Know Your Rights videos in multiple languages to inform New Yorkers of their rights in the event of an ICE encounter. These videos are designed to be easily accessible and are available on the Council’s newly created centralized webpage, which also includes a variety of resources and organizations offering aid.
You can view and share the Know Your Rights webpage, and we encourage you to spread the word widely across your platforms to ensure our communities are informed and prepared.
